BKTB 2025 Overview
Over the past three weeks, a group of carefully selected participants participated in an elite and highly competitive virtual summer program designed to introduce high school students to the core principles of investment banking and financial analysis through engaging case studies, real-world simulations, and professional mentorship throughout the program. Sponsored by leading financial institutions, BKTB empowers students with the necessary tools to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, finance, technology, and entrepreneurship.
As Managing Partner at Amino Capital, Dr. Sue Xu has led investments in over 200 early-stage startups, many of which have become leaders in artificial intelligence, fintech, and data-driven innovation. Holding a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Cornell University, Dr. Xu began her career as a founding scientist at GlycoMira and contributed to multiple Stanford University lab spin-offs. She has authored 20+ peer-reviewed journal articles and holds three patents.

August 17, Top Wealth Management Firm Co-head

Carlyle is one of the world’s largest and most diversified global investment firms, with over $400 billion in assets under management. Joining BKTB, the Co-Head of The Carlyle Group led a stimulating session, introducing students to the world of wealth management.
During the session, students gained a deeper understanding of private equity, real assets, and global business management, while also exploring emerging trends in the healthcare industry and global business management.


August 21, Corporate Valuations & Financial Analysis Masterclass with Michael Mu
Led by industry expert Michael Mu, this session provided a comprehensive exploration of valuation methodologies used by top investment banks and private equity firms.
Students are introduced to the analytical frameworks behind high-stakes financial decision-making, including DCF modeling, Comparable Company Analysis (Comps), and Precedent Transaction Analysis. Students learned to forecast cash flows, calculate terminal value, analyze trading multiples, and interpret market dynamics.

As part of Bank of America, Merrill Lynch is a leading wealth management firm that provides financial advice, investment strategies, and wealth management to individuals, families, and institutions worldwide. As the Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch, Nicole Quinlan guided students through career opportunities in wealth management.

The session provided students with an understanding of career pathways in wealth management, fundamentals of financial advising, and practical insights from client centered experiences. Students explored the core skills required to be a successful financial advisor, learned about client interactions, and the best ways to navigate opportunities in the finance industry.

August 27, Nvidia Senior Engineer Zhirong Dai

As a Senior Engineer at NVIDIA, Zhirong Dai provided an insider’s perspective on the AI company in the world as well as a a forward-looking analysis of the latest industry trends in artificial intelligence.

Drawing from his experience as a Senior Engineer, he shared first-hand insights on the operations and innovations of AI chips, explaining the design, functionality and transformative impact over technology.



August 31, IPO Pitch: Taking a Company Public
To conclude, our dedicated team of students successfully guided Databricks, a leading private AI company, through a full IPO process, applying the financial, analytical, and strategic skills they developed to a panel of investment bankers. Throughout the program, participants collaborated on real-world projects, structured deals, performed valuations, and delivered professional materials. With mentorship from a Wharton student, industry experts, and insights from guest speakers across finance and technology, participants developed practical expertise in corporate finance, investment strategy, and deal execution while exploring career paths in business, finance, and technology. This immersive experience equips the next generation of leaders with the skills, knowledge, and strategic thinking needed to thrive in the evolving world of finance and business.
